What Are Box Style Security Cameras?

Box style security cameras are the most commonly used security cameras in the industry. A box camera is basically a raw camera that gives you the flexibility to add any lens you choose to capture the surveillance view you are trying to achieve. Often you will hear box style security cameras referred to as CS Mount Cameras, Cube Cameras, or C-Mount cameras. A box camera also allows you to simply add a mounting bracket to install indoors or you can install the camera in a housing for outdoor surveillance applications. The box camera itself comes with numerous specification options to choose from such as resolution, dimensions, light sensitivity, power voltage, iris control, image sensor and chip type. Today box style cameras can also be purchased as traditional analog cameras or IP (internet Protocol) cameras that can be attached to a network or server.

The main benefit of using a box style camera is you can change the lens. You have the ability to add any lens that best supports the area you are trying to record, view, and secure. You can pick a varifocal type lens from 1.8mm to 50mm which will give you the widest or narrowest view you will need.
